Q&A

Would a cannabis topical help with pelvic floor dysfunction?

Hello! Pelvic floor dysfunction occurs when the pelvic floor does not work as well as it should. The Pelvic floor is the muscles, ligaments, connective tissues and nerves that support the bladder, uterus, vagina and rectum. The most common treatment for pelvic floor dysfunction is biofeedback, by a physical therapist. This is a non-painful and non-surgical therapy that provides muscle coordination improvement. Surgery would be considered after all other treatment failures. Topical cannabis would not provide significant symptom relief. Some people may experience relief of pain and discomfort with medicinal cannabis (ex. capsules, vape, tincture).
