What type of cannabis is recommended for fibromyalgia?

Hello there! My name is Dr. Park, and I’ve had some training in pain management so allow me to help you out. How long have you had the fibromyalgia? Are you getting treatment relief and if so, what class of medications have you tried? Fibromyalgia is a very complex issue but the latest research seems to indicate a three prong attack: 1) Something must be done to provide analgesia/pain relief. The standard of care is a medication called Lyrica but of course, cannabis can be helpful (the literature I’ve seen suggested that items higher on the THC end) might be good. 2) Patients need to have a mild daily exercise routine (water aerobics are popular but so is tai-chi) 3) All the literature really points to the need for behavioural training (CBT/DBT/gestalt therapy) or talk therapy. If you have further questions, please come over and we’d love to help you more!

HI, I had Fibromyalgia since 2006. I have been on every drug recommended by my Doctor and also some natural medications, it helps for a few but now nothing helps, is so hard for to rest and sleep, the pain on my lower back, hips and shoulders is out of control my doctor keeps increasing the dose on all my medicine Gabapentin 300mg 3/day, Cymbalta 60mg 2/day, tramadol 50mg, 2 – 3 times a day, trazodone 50mg 1.5 bed time, Celebrex 2/day. Honestly I’m so tired of all this medicine that is not helping any more.
