Q&A

What type of cannabis can be recommended for a prolapsed uterus?

"Any suggestions of products is much appreciated!"

Pelvic Organ Prolapse (POP) is not uncommon for woman after childbirth. It can also be caused by injury/ surgery to the area, obesity, chronic straining (i.e. from constipation). In some cases, surgical repair is the only option; for other women, Kegel’s exercises are often prescribed. The delivery method for the cannabis is dependent on how often you have the symptoms/ occurence of uterine prolapse. The inhalation method using a vape-pen might be best if you want something with increased bioavailability and quick onset of action. For pain, I would start at a 1:1 CBD to THC ratio (unless you haven’t tried cannabis much before, in that case a 2:1 or 3:1s CBD:THC ratio might be best). Other ideas you can try include a rectal suppository (I believe the company Foria makes them) especially if chronic constipation is an issue. Another method is applying a topical med cann prep to the lower abdomen and lower back and combine this with heat for analgesia/ pain mgmt. Please make sure you keep in touch with your gynecologist as well. If you are over target weight, the evidence suggests that this might also contribute to POP. I hope these tips help; please let us know what worked and what didn’t!
