The most notable difference between THC and CBD is that THC is psychoactive – it’s responsible for that distinct cannabis "high." CBD doesn’t give you a high, but it has enjoyed the public spotlight for its impressive medicinal properties.

THC and CBD are two main components of the cannabis herb. They have different effect on a human body. Both components can potentiate each other; and CBD added to THC can decrease THC psycoactive effect. Few facts about THC and CBD:
THC –

  1. THC is the principle psychoactive component of cannabis and was first identified and synthesized in 1964.
  2. The amount of THC in cannabis varies based on the strain produced by the manufacturer
  3. The average amount of THC is approximately 10% but can range from as low as 1% to as high as 30%.
    CBD –
  4. The main non-psychoactive plant-derived cannabinoid in fibre (hemp) plants.
  5. Structurally similar to THC, has very different pharmacological properties.
