Cannabis has not been shown to prevent, treat, or cure diabetes. It has no specific predictable effect on blood sugar (except for increasing appetite which may lead to a rise in blood sugar from eating), and there is no clinical science I’m aware of showing diabetes occurs less often in cannabis users. Nevertheless, cannabis has been reported as helpful for patients experiencing diabetes complications like peripheral neuropathy, and may have some other specific benefits for patients with diabetes. Remember too that most chronic conditions do better when the emotional and mental side of life feel easier and cannabis can be helpful in moderating mood, reducing anxiety, and improving sleep.
