Q&A

What is the prognosis for prostate cancer with involvement of lymph nodes if you use cannabis oil?

"Also, can one continue with hormone therapy while taking cannabis oil? What is the best method of taking it? What is the correct CBD % content? "

According to the American Cancer Society, Prostate cancer that has spread to nearby lymph nodes is categorized under ‘regional stage’. The 5-year survival rate for regional stage prostate cancer is nearly 100%. There is no scientific data in regards to the prognosis with the use of cannabis oil.
The goal of hormone therapy for prostate cancer is to reduce the levels of male hormones. There are two types of drugs used for hormone therapy: luteinizing hormone-releasing hormones (LH-RH) agonist and androgen-blocking drugs. Medical marijuana is not known to have any significant interactions with prostate hormone therapy medications. Research demonstrates that various cannabinoids inhibit cancer cell growth. Cannabinoids also help cancer patients by treating nausea, vomiting and pain and by stimulating appetite. Unfortunately there are no studies on the exact dose for the treatment of cancer in humans. Anecdotal reports suggest a high CBD low THC ratio (10:1 or 20:1), titrating up in milligrams as tolerated.
