I’m so sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with cancer– I hope that your medical team has been able to help you work through the treatment options. Cannabis can be used for cancer therapy in a couple different ways. First, patients find cannabis can help with pain from the cancer itself, or from side effects of chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy such as nausea, pain, or sleeplessness. Second, often patients also wonder if cannabis can help with treating the cancer itself, i.e. killing cancer cells, and your question seems to be more related to this aspect. Preliminary animal and lab studies indicate that cannabinoids such as CBD can assist your body in inducing cancer cell death and limiting their ability to spread/grow. Fortunately, oral doses of up to 700 mg a day are well-tolerated.
