Yes you should. One of the reasons is that CBD may have some effect of the cytochrome p-450 enxyme system. This enzyme system is responsible for the metabolism of many drugs, some of which you may receive during or after your surgery.
I would inform my surgeon and anesthsiologist ( fyi- I am a Board Certified Anesthesiologist) that you are taking CBD since they might change your medication you receive during your anesthesia. Knowing this may help your physicians to devise the best medication regime for you after your surgery for your pain.
For acute, short term pain, such as the first few days after surgery, the opioids that the surgeon may suggest can yield good pain relief. Try to stop taking them after that and consider a cannabis tincture to help with any pain that you still have.
