Q&A

I've received my medical recommendation but feel uncomfortable going to a dispensary. What should I expect when I go?

"I am 65 and totally new to this and feel very uncomfortable showing up at a dispensary! I have looked online but don’t really understand the marijuana menus or what to do next. I am thinking of having my son come with me, but I am wondering what to expect when I show up there."

There are other ways besides going to a dispensary. You can order delivery or you can have the medicine shipped to your front door. Check out SpeedWeed.com or JoinClubM.com or getsava.com or getcannvis.com. Hope this helps.

It’s normal to feel apprehensive about going to a dispensary for the first time, and the sheer volume and variety of products available can be overwhelming. In terms of finding a dispensary that you will be more comfortable going to, you could try searching on the web for locations near you / in an area where you are comfortable (one example is weedmaps.com).

When you arrive at the dispensary, you will have to provide your patient identification card and complete some paperwork that allows you to join. Your son could accompany you, but only if he also has a current medical marijuana recommendation and joins the dispensary.

If your doctor has made suggestions for which product(s) might be helpful for you, you can use this information as a guide. Alternatively, you could ask one of the staff at the dispensary for any suggestions they might have for your medical condition(s). Often the dispensary staff are knowledgeable about their products, as they work closely with the growers and vendors in their area.
