Q&A

Is there a difference with the THC amount when its a suppository?

"I am sensitive to THC, so not sure that 60mg of THC would be a good idea. That’s the single dosage of this Foria product. I read about it in the news. Any further info on this would be appreciated."

Cannabis suppositories may be available in different dosing strengths. It is important to remember that the bioavailability of the drug is much higher when administered rectally (50-60% than when inhaled or taken orally (10-25%). So, the same dose taken rectally will effectively be 4 times stronger. Peak blood plasma levels occur later and are also maintained longer (1-8 hours) as compared to inhalation (3 min – 2 hours) or oral administration (2-4 hours).
