Cannabis contains many cannabinoid compounds like THC and CBD, but is also rich in essential oils, the fragrance carrying molecules called terpenes. These are often not present in the oil cartridges for vape pens, sometimes added back in by the manufacturer. Terpenes seem important in the full range of cannabis effects. It is likely that using cannabis flowers rather than extracted oils will allow the full ‘entourage effect’ of all the constituents working together.
