Q&A

I toss and turn all night long. What can you recommend to help me sleep?

"I have a lot of racing thoughts and have a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. I’d like to try a marijuana product that will help calm me and get a good night’s sleep, without feeling hungover in the morning."

Low-dose THC can be a great way to get to sleep and stay asleep. Unlike eating large doses of THC before bed, which can induce anxiety, prevent onset of sleep or even reduce quality of sleep for some consumers, low-dose THC has been proved in clinical studies to reduce insomnia, specifically in patients with PTSD. What’s a low dose of THC? We are looking at under 5mg of THC.

One great product I personally use to shut off my brain at night is Stillwater Tea, you can check it out at https://stillwater.life/tea. The Mellow Mint version, with just 2.5 mg of THC, from an Indica (aka sleepy) strain, it’s the right dose to get you to sleep without interfering with sleep. Because tea is hot, the THC is absorbed quickly, and it knocks me out within 15 minutes. I wake up refreshed and not groggy.

Care By Design makes a great 1:1 soft gel that may help you get the rest you so desire. Each soft gel is 10mg CBD + 10mg THC. Because the soft gel is digested like an edible, be prepared to take it 1-2 hours before your bedtime in order to avoid any hangover effect. Edible effects may last 8-10 hours. The THC will help you drift off to sleep and the CBD will help you stay asleep. This product works great for long lasting pain relief, as well sleep. You can purchase Care By Design’s 1:1 Soft Gels at www.octaviawellness.com.
