Q&A

I suffer from psoriasis. Can you recommend cannabis products that could help?

"I’ve suffered from psoriasis for several years (I’m a 28 year old woman). It’s on my legs and stomach and it’s really uncomfortable and looks terrible. I’ve tried different ointments from my dermatologist but nothing seems to help that much."

This is from an earlier answer to a question regarding psoriasis: I recommend using a topical cannabis salve. Apply in thin layers to the affected area as often as needed. THC is not absorbed through intact skin so using it will not cause psychoactivity. Cannabis salve is an excellent remedy for psoriatic plaques and well as for the inflammation and joint pain caused by psoriatic arthritis. THC has 20 the anti-inflammatory activity of aspirin and twice that of hydrocortisone (Russo). In a 1981 study published in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, cannabichromene (CBC), another major cannabinoid, was found to have greater anti-inflammatory activity than phenylbutazone (aka "bute"). To further enhance anti-inflammation and modulation of the autoimmune system, consider using a 1:1 or 1:2 THC:CBD tincture sublingually two to three times daily. Start with 1-2 drops and increase the dose by 1-2 drops every 2-3 days until you see results – decreased pain, decreased swelling, and resolution of plaques.
