Not sure I understand the question when you say "hold". Do you mean to store cannabis? To consume cannabis? And in which state are you talking about? If its state where cannabis is legal for recreational use or a medical state where you need a recommendation for, the answer changes. Since you are in fact on private property, ie the University, they can make the rules for which you have to comply.
