How do I know the cannabis I am purchasing is safe and good quality?

"What standards does New York state have in place to make sure marijuana is safe?"

There are strict manufacturing requirements for approved medical marijuana products that monitor everything from the THC and CBD concentrations in the products, the water used to grow the plants, to the fungicides/herbicides that are approved by the New York State
Department of Agriculture and Markets. For each lot of medical marijuana product produced, the manufacturing organization submits samples to NYS for quality testing.

Per New York state regulations, all medical cannabis products must be produced with United States Pharmacopeia and National Formulary (USP/NF) grade excipients, be tested by an independent third party facility, and be certified by the New York Department of Health (NYDOH). Additionally, New Yorkโ€™s Registered Organizations (ROs) are vertically integrated to maintain quality control from start-to- finish. All products are packaged in ASTM-certified packaging for Tamper Evidence and Child Resistance.
