Q&A

Headache after consuming?

"I found that I suffered from headaches a few days after consuming cannabis recently. Is there a way to prevent this or mitigate it? One of the reasons I got my card was to deal with occasional migraines – so it felt counterproductive."

Certain strains can produce more of stimulating high that could trigger headaches. I personally use cannabis to help with migraines and I have found that Sativa strains occasionally trigger headaches and more so when I mix different Sativa flowers together to be smoked. Knowing this I have started to exclusively smoke Indica or Hybrids that are Indica dominate. Strains with traces of CBD also relax the body and can help relieve headaches. It is also important to remember that topicals can be applied to the temples for some relief from headaches.
