Q&A

colitis and CBD

"I have Ulcerative colitis, I am interested in using products like CBD that are not psycho-active, are there others products like this? I found a suppository on the Foria site, but it’s purpose is different, could I use this for colitis?"

Cannabis has been shown to be very helpful with inflammatory bowel disease, such as ulcerative colitis. CBD has potent anti-inflammatory effects and I have spoken with many patients who attest to the benefits of cannabis in helping with pain, cramping, nausea, appetite and mood elevation. Cannabis also helps to lessen the side effects of other medications. The foria suppository has many applications, and I think it would be very helpful for inflammatory bowel disease as well as painful conditions of the digestive system and pelvic region in general. I don’t know of other products that would be comparable to the foria suppositories, but it would seem that one could easily make an cannabis oil infusion and use it in a similar fashion.
