Q&A

CBD with Medications?

"Hi, I would like to enquire if it is safe to take the next medications with 30 mg CBD daily dosage: Methylprednisolone, dexamethasone, codeine, carbamazepine.

The Methylprednisolone is taken in injected form.

Many thanks! "

Hello,
While all of those medications are metabolized via the cytochrome p450 pathway, 30mg of CBD/day should not alter the metabolism of those drugs in any appreciable way — that would take much much higher doses to of CBD. Additionally, there is no known toxic interaction between CBD and any drug. Although, at extremely high doses, CBD can increase plasma concentrations of drugs metabolized via the same pathway.

Extremely safe. That is a very modest amount of CBD.
