Q&A

Can marijuana help alleviate the symptoms of tardive dyskinesia?

Tardive dyskinesia (TD) is a neurological movement disorder that causes uncontrolled tic-like movements of the face, and tongue. The symptoms are often similar to that of Parkinson’s Disease. According to the National Parkinson Foundation, research suggests medical marijuana is an effective way for some patients to manage their symptoms. However, this shouldn’t be a replacement for approved therapies for Dyskinesias . Research is still needed to determine how medical marijuana’s long-term usage can effect Dyskinesias and verify it’s results.
