Q&A

Can I take Cbd oil with Lorezapem?

CBD and other cannabinoids may block off the Cytochrome P450, which are a group of enzymes in the liver. Cytochrome P450 help metabolize most drugs, including Lorzapem. All cannabinoids affect the Cytochrome P450 enzymes, as well as other enzymes in the body, but CBD affects it the most.

Research in this area is still pretty scant, so the level that CBD inhibits these enzymes is not totally understood. It is clear though that higher doses of CBD may affect this cluster of enzymes more.
CBD will probably affect how your body metabolizes Lorezapem, but itโ€™s not clear exactly how.

Itโ€™s a good idea to talk to your doctor about using CBD in conjunction with other drugs. Drug interactions vary wildly from person to person, so the best way to figure out which combination of drugs work best for you is work closely with your health care professional.

I find this a helpful bacground/primer regarding the use of cannabis and benzodiazepines. I almost always begin a taper regimen of the benzo in the patient starting cannabis.
