Q&A

Can cannabis help with sarcoidosis?

"I suffer with the pain from stage 4 sarcoidosis as well as pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary fibrosis."

It certainly seems using CBD would be a good idea because Sarcoidosis, pulmonary hypertension and fibrosis pain are highly inflammatory diseases and using CBD would likely help to greatly reduce the inflammation then going to THCA for sleep would keep the anti-inflammatory effect going through the night.
There usually is a lot of anxiety when a person has difficulty with breathing but the CBD cannabis should help to quiet the anxiety challenges. Please, try to stay in present moment also to quiet any anxiety because if allowed to wander, the brain can cause severe anxiety by thinking of the, ‘what ifs’.
Get your Vitamin D level checked also since Vitamin D helps to lubricate the lungs but the effective range tends to be when the blood level of Vitamin D3 is above 55 ng/ml.
Think positive and use your CBD cannabis regularly and in 1-3 months you may have significantly improved health with easier breathing.

To Dr. Olson’s great ideas, I might also recommend avoiding even vape-pens or other inhalation methods like smoking, potentiallyobvious given the already present fibrosis & resultant pulmonary hypertension–> perhaps tincture drops in hot tea might also be useful for breathing pain or even topical applied on top of the rib cage? I take it you are already seeing a pulmonologist/ specialist? Have you tried inhaled steroids? If you are not already doing so, I might also suggest pulmonary rehabilitation to try to retain pulmonary/ lung function

Hi there!

While studies on sarcoidosis treatment and cannabis products are hard to find, CBD treatment has been proven to ease inflammation–and inflammatory tissue is what causes sarcoidosis. Here’s an article explaning how CBD can help lower inflammation:

Pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary fibrosis are conditions that would cause one to avoid smoking. Luckily there are many non-inhaled cannabis delivery methods such as edibles, tinctures and sublingual that you can try.
