Q&A

Can cannabis help relieve the discomfort from diabetic neuropathy?

Great question!
Cannabis is great with nerve pain. Depending on your comfort level, you can use most forms of application like topical balms, edibles, tinctures and even smoking/vaporizing. The compound CBD is a great tool to use when combating nerve related pain and medium to high ratio options (8:1-20:1 CBD:THC) are great places to start to help suppress the amount of euphoria that accompanies THC as a side effect.
I hope this helps!

The answer is yes, according to a randomized, double-blinded, placebo controlled crossover study in 16 patients with painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy conducted at UCSD.

Low (1% tetrahydrocannabinol, THC), medium (4% THC), or high (7% THC) doses of cannabis were compared w/ placebo. The cannabis was vaporized. There was approximately 400mg of โ€œplant material per administration, dosing therefore was controlled at 0, 4, 16 or 28 mg THC per dosing session.โ€
