"I need something to help me with pain in my back, and I have severe neuropathy in my feet, legs and hands! I can hardly walk two blocks! CBD? Will it help? I’ve been hearing so much about it."
Hello,
I am so sorry to hear about your painful condition.
Have you tried CBD or THC before? Does THC seem to help with the pain? THC and CBD do work better together for pain relief. I would recommend trying either one of our 1:1 ratio bars. We offer an 60mg bar in a dark chocolate espresso flavor and a 120mg bar in a dark chocolate ginger flavor. We would recommend a starting dose of 5mg for your first time until you know how your body will react. Please let me know if you have any other questions since I would like to know what you have tried so far.

CBD is definitely worth trying for your pain! Kiva makes two 1:1 ratio CBD/ THC bars. We always recommend starting with a 5MG dose of THC and seeing how that amount feels. Starting with a low dose will help you find your Minimum Effective Dose (MED). If you titrate (slowly increase your dose), you should be able to find that sweet spot of relief. If you find that edible products do not give you a desirable experience, you can also try topicals applied directly to the painful areas- or even do topicals in conjunction with edibles. With topicals you can feel free to use THC-only products as there is no psychoactivity associated with them. We wish you the best of luck in finding comfort and relief in cannabis!

Yes, I am a strong believer in CBDs and I do think you will find relief of your chronic back pain with CBD and I agree it is often best to use CBD internally as well as the external cream at a 1:1 ratio of CBD:THC. You may apply the cream every hour during your waking hours and this should put your chronic back pain in remission but the trick to getting pain to go away is to apply the salve frequently to keep the pain from breaking through and you are telling you body that you do not want to be notified of each twinge of pain and the body eventually stops sending the signals (unless you reinjure yourself) but you need to apply the cream to the painful area as well as to your cervical & lumbar spine to resolve the neuropathy symptoms. You do have to be a little patient because it will take time to get rid of all the inflammatory cells that are creating your back pain and neuropathy. Being consistent with a daily dose of high CBD, like in a tincture concentrate, and you should start to notice that you are feeling better in a month and in two months you should be significantly improved throughout your body and your chronic back pain may be history. If this has not resolved your problems please, have your doctor check your vitamin B12, magnesium and vitamin C levels and you may need to increase NAC, Glutathione, Alpha Lipoic Acid and and Vitamin C.

Chronic pain and neuropathy are extremely common issues and cannabis has been known to help people with both of these conditions. Back pain is known to affect up to 80% of the population at some point. Neuropathy, is estimated to affect up to 20 million people per year and"is defined as the damage to the sensory, motor or automatic nerves that occurs from an underlying cause."
Your question specifically asked if CBD might help with your medical issue. It’s important to address how whole plant cannabis, meaning all the cannabinoids including THC, may be used for both of these conditions.
Recent studies have indicated that cannabis reduces chronic pain for both men and women. In our HelloMD/UC Berkeley study on chronic pain and cannabis, 81% of participants said that cannabis was more effective for their pain. Often, it seems that higher-percentage THC strains combat pain for people more effectively, however, high CBD ratio (with low THC%) may also help. A hi CBD strain for pain is ACDC and a hi THC strain that may work is OG Kush.
In terms of neuropathy, many patients respond better with cannabis than to traditional treatment. Both THC and CBD interact with the nervous system to mitigate pain. It is important to try different kinds of cannabis to see what work for you and your body.

A colleague here at HelloMD wrote an outstanding article regarding marijuana strains for back pain:

Because many patients would like to avoid smoking and vaping, I will provide a list of edible and topical cannabis products that I highly recommend for chronic back pain.

I recommend the 2:1 spray . Each spray delivers 2.6mg of CBD and 1.3mg of THC. I recommend sprays because they are easier to use than are oils and tinctures. For most of my patients, I recommend one to two sprays as needed, as frequently as every hour.

I recommend the 18:1 bar. Each 1/4 piece contains 20mg CBD and 1.1mg THC. Take 1/4 of the bar as frequently as every two hours.

Lord Jones 1:1 Pain and Wellness Formula Body Lotion. Apply to affected area as frequently as every two hours.
