The color of cartridge oil can vary due to the extraction method or due to cannabis’ natural terpenes (natural component of the cannabis plant that adds flavor and aroma and enhances the health benefits of cannabis). Therefore lighter oil does not always equal better as leaving the terpenes of the cannabis plant in the oil is a huge plus, but may make the oil look darker. On the other note, some extraction methods, especially those involving butane, will leave some residual solvents in the final product, which is a health concern.
