Q&A

Are cannabis edibles dangerous to my small dog?

I am a human physician, not a veterinarian, but I can reassure you that cannabis has no direct toxicity – there is no known amount that is physically harmful the body. However, all mammals have receptors for the active compounds in cannabis, including small dogs. Ingesting an uncontrolled amount would lead to things like disorientation and dysfunctional behavior that might cause significant harm. Although I’d expect sedation more than excitation, it is always a good idea to keep all edible cannabis secure from children and pets.
