Q&A

Is CBD beneficial in healing bone fractures and preventing osteoporosis?

Yes, CBD’s due appear beneficial in supporting healthy bone function. It appears that CBD slows the action of the osteoclasts (the part of the bone that reabsorbs the bone cells) and it may increase the osteoblasts (the part of the bone that forms new bone cells) by regulating bone activity.
Deficiency of CB1 may cause osteoporosis by increasing bone reabsorption and reducing new bone formation. The CB2 receptors are believed to maintain a healthy balance of bone resorption and new bone formation, protecting against age related osteoporosis.
Topical CBDs are beneficial for pain but since the topical CBD will not go systemic so I am not aware of it being used in preventing osteoporosis, an oral or inhaled form of CBD may produce far better results.
