Thanks for asking this question. It gets to the heart of an important medical cannabis issue. CBD is one of the many cannabinoids found in cannabis, and there is NO relationship between CBD levels and the old-fashioned Indica/Sativa terminology. Indica and Sativa refer to botanical issues like leaf shape and plant height, and folk wisdom is that Indica is often sedating and Sativa energizing. The CBD:THC ratio may change the effects of cannabis, but many other factors are involved (eg terpenes). Indica and Sativa now mostly refer to breeding lineage of the many named varieties, and their reputed effects. But that is a different way of looking at it from CBD/THC ratio. Complicated, isn’t it?
