Q&A

What can I use for sleep without having to smoke?

You can use all sorts of things! Here are two that I have tried:

Sensei chew’s insomnia edible. It’s a tootsie roll based edible and it also has some melatonin in it as well to help you nod off.

Absolute Extracts/Care by Design makes an indica spray that is good for reducing the time it takes to fall asleep. You just spray it into your mouth, leaving the spray for a while to let it absorb, and the effects take place in 20-40 minutes.

There are a number of product types that work well for sleep without having to smoke. Primarily, I’d suggest experimenting with tinctures and edibles.

Some tinctures are specifically formulated for sleep, using indica strains combined with other herbs that promote relaxation and sleep. Putting a tincture under your tongue (taking it sublingually) will make the effects come on faster than swallowing it and having it pass through your digestive system.

Edibles are also great, but can take longer to take effect – sometimes 45 minutes to an hour – so you’ll need to plan accordingly. Again, there are many formulated specifically for sleep, but you don’t necessarily need a sleep specific one. A small amount goes a long way, so start with only 1-3 mg of THC and see how it goes.

Although not considered a stimulant, sugar and refined carbohydrates can interfere with sleep. Eating a diet high in sugar and refined carbohydrate and eating irregularly can cause a reaction in the body that triggers the โ€œfight or flightโ€ part of the nervous system, causing wakefulness. This should come into consideration when choosing the right product for you, make sure to look at the ingredients. The products @MoonMan’s Mistress our low glycemic and are made with ingredients that are made to nourish the body.
