There is conflicting evidence regarding the effectiveness of cannabis in treating tinnitus, however based on my own experiences as well as many others I’ve spoken with cannabis can definitely help with the anxiety and depression. My understanding is the anxiety and depression can actually be side effects of lifelong tinnitus, so treating those symptoms, while perhaps not addressing the tinnitus directly, could still be highly beneficial.
CBD has shown effectiveness treating anxiety, while the mood boosting effects of THC can help with depression. A balanced ratio of CBD and THC creates a synergistic ‘entourage effect’ that is greater than the sum of its parts, so I would personally recommend starting with products containing a roughly balanced ratio. These products also have more mild psychoactive effects if you happen to be sensitive to such.
*Note: If you want a non-psychoactive medication you will want CBD only. Many people report his is highly effective for the anxiety.
