Q&A

I’m having a kidney transplant in early February. Does smoking marijuana prior and posterior to the procedure have negative effects?

"Thanks "

Hi there!
Smoking is never recommended, especially before and after a surgery. Smoking anything prior to the surgery will significantly increase the probability of encountering respiratory complications, both during and immediately after the surgery.
Post-surgery, smoking will slow would healing due to inhaling by-products of combustion, such as carbon monoxide and lead.
I recommend that you switch to oils or edibles.
Best of luck!
