My question is…is it safe to take CBD while weaning off of Tramadol

"My question is…is it safe to take CBD while weaning off of Tramadol"

Great question. In general, CBD is safe while weaning off tramadol as long as you start low and go slow introducing/increasing CBD and go slow weaning off tramadol. Consider skipping alternate doses of tramadol while very slowing increasing CBD while monitoring symptoms. Make this a very gradual process.

Hello, I think it is safe to try using CBD products when weaning Tramadol. Tramadol belongs to the opiate agonist class and is catalyzed by cytochrome P450 (CYP) 2D6, CYP2B6 and CYP3A4 ( PharmGKB summary: tramadol pathway ) that potentially can alter metabolism of cannabis that can decrease or increase its plasma concentration. If you are naive user, you need to start low and go slow. I would not recommend to take CBD enriched products close to time of regular Tramadol dose, or you can take it closely if you decrease the dose of Tramadol significuntly (if your usual dose 100 mg – use 50 mg; if 50 mg – use 25 mg) to prevent potential toxicity and side effects of Tramadol. After few days of CBD product trial you can try to skip the regular dose of Tramadol – one dose within few days.
