Hello,
Several studies suggest that cannabis can help alleviate the pain of arthritis. And while cannabis research has historically focused on THC, synthetic cannabinoids, or our own naturally occurring cannabinoids, there is an evergrowing body of research regarding the potential medicinal benefits of CBD.
In a study with performed on mice with artificially induced arthritis, researchers concluded that "CBD, through its combined immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory actions, has a potent anti-arthritic effect" which may even "block the progression of arthritis."

Researchers in a different study concluded that "topical CBD application has therapeutic potential for relief of arthritis pain and inflammation"

Hello there!
THC temporarily increases blood pressure and heart rate, so it should be taken cautiously if you have significant cardiovascular risk factors.
However, studies suggest that prolonged administration of THC, in both humans and experimental animals, lowers both blood pressure and heart rate. Animal studies suggest that this may be due to a reduction in adrenergic tone, which is also how beta-blockers, such as metoprolol, work as anti-hypertensives. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2228270/#R
Also, a study published last year found that a 600mg dose of CBD reduced blood pressure while resting, as well as when under physical or mental stress.https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5470879/#B7
While there are no clinical studies addressing the dosing of cannabis for hypertension, I would likely recommend a high CBD vs low THC containing product, such as a 20:1 edible, oil or spray — dosing of 10mg of CBD three times per day. You should keep a log to see if the addition of the CBD:THC has had a positive effect on your blood pressure.
Hope this helps!

Hi there!
CBD, through it’s combined immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory actions, has a potent anti-arthritic effect which may even block the progression of arthritis.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10920191
Also, a very recently published study concluded that "topical CBD application has therapeutic potential for relief of arthritis pain-related behaviors and inflammation without evident side-effects."

Perhaps most interesting, human synovial fluid (fluid in the joints which reduces friction) from osteoarthritis and rheumatoid joints — but not from healthy joints — contained the endocannabinoidsย 2-ag and anandamine, which suggests that endocannabinoids are produced at the site of tissue injury to reduce inflammation.

One of CBD’s defining therapuetic qualities is that it reduces inflammation. You can read more here: https://www.hellomd.dev/health-wellness/5abeac04f24d1300077ccbae/how-cannabis-can-help-ease-arthritis-pain-and-inflammation
