Wempowered: A Women's Cannabis Networking Event Addressing Policy & Regulations

WEmpowered, the cannabis networking group for female entrepreneurs, met for a second time on July 27th at Big Rock in San Francisco. It was an evening full of community, collaboration and conversation with over 100 women in attendance. The content for this event focused on discussing key components of upcoming cannabis regulations, and how to best continue efforts to shape upcoming policy and regulations.

After an hour of networking and socializing our host, Carolyn Kissick of Big Rock, welcomed the crowd to Big Rock’s beautiful loft-like space and emphasized the need to support women within the cannabis industry. The keynote speakers for the evening were Amy O’Gorman Jenkins of Platinum Advisors and Angie Monette Harrison of 421 Group. Angie addressed the group on how best to weather the ups and downs of cannabis advocacy through methods she has used in her own life. Amy O’Gorman followed, talking with the audience about how to effectively shape and change cannabis policy based on her experience in legislative, public affairs and political campaigns at the federal, state and local level.
