Social anxiety is very common, and there are a variety of ways to approach treatment. One of the best therapies, in my opinion, is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). This is a means of working with a therapist either as an individual patient or with a group of patients to learn techniques whereby you identify situations that cause you anxiety and learn to cope with and modify your own thoughts to make these situations more comfortable.
One of the most important aspects of learning how to cope with social anxiety is to not "avoid" social settings but rather to "push" yourself to encounter them, get through them, and evaluate your (and other’s) responses to these situations. CBT can be used with or without medicinal therapy, and there are several medicines that have been found to be helpful with social anxiety.
For some individuals with social anxiety, cannabis (typically indica dominant strings) can be helpful for alleviating stress in social settings while enabling them to interact with others more comfortably and learn social skills. On the other hand, certain strains (typically sativa dominant) may actually worsen anxiety, so it is important to assess your own response to cannabis before putting yourself in any social situation.
I hope this helps ๐
