Q&A

Are all topical products similar or should I look for a specific brand?

"I have arthritis in my fingers and looking for alternative products that might help."

Topicals cannabis preparations and products can vary widely. California is the wild wild west when it comes to cannabis. It is somewhat of an unregulated market, and standards have yet to be adopted for packaging, potency, purity, testing for pesticides, solvents, etc. I encourage patients to research the company that produces the product, and to look for well-labeled, well-packaged products that have clearly listed ingredients and dosing instructions. It may even be appropriate to contact the company directly. When utilizing topicals it is important to check for allergens, and to discontinue use if adverse effects occur.
